Nano Biomedicine and Engineering (Nano Biomed. Eng.) is an open access, international, peer-reviewed journal. Each quarterly issue of Nano Biomed. Eng. presents basic, clinical, and engineering research in the interdisciplinary field of Nanotechnology, Biology, Medicine and Engineering.

Among the areas of interest the journal covers are:

1. Synthesis, safety evaluation and clinical application of nanobiomaterials.

2. Nanoscale diagnosis technologies: including nanoscale chips, microfludics, nanodevices and molecular imaging.

3. Nanoscale therapeutic technologies: including targeting therapies based on nanomaterials and nano-effects, design and synthesis of nanoscale drugs, drug delivery system.

4. Stem cell nanotechnologies: including experimental, clinical, engineering studies.

5. Pharmacologic, toxicologic, and dynamic, metabolic nanomedicine.

6. Regular features will address clinical translation of nano biomaterials and products, ethics in nanomedicine, funding opportunities, and other topics of interest to researchers and clinicians.

Nano Biomed. Eng. is not only an open-access journal,and also offers very rapid review and production times--at most 4 weeks from submission to acceptance. Accepted articles will appear online rapidly. The rise of the open-access publishing model, benefits from its scientific contents freely accessible via the Internet for immediate worldwide, but suffers from leaving authors to bear the cost of publication. Nano Biomed. Eng. goes one step further -- publication charges for their accepted papers is free. It becomes possible through extensive volunteerism and sponsorships.
